How are you my dear friends?

These are the current times that we live in. It can be scary, trust me I sometimes am afraid. But tonight at 11:33 PM I have been led to come here and talk with you guys. All I can say right now is selah (rest, pause). The Lord your God is with you.

Let’s pray, Dear Heavenly Father, we come before you oh Lord. Whether it is in the morning, afternoon, or night. Come be with us, let us be still Lord as we spend time with you Abba. Heal the world Lord, heal the people. Yeshua (Jesus), I pray right now touch our heavy burden hearts, make us whole. We pray AGAINST this Corona virus, Lord we believe that you can make a turn around, we believe that you can disintegrate this virus as it is not of you Lord. Thank you God for all that you do for us.

In Yeshua’s name, Amen.

So this week has been okay. Just okay you ask? Most of you are working from home, have kids, pets, and your spouse by you. While some of you may think it’s hectic and annoyed, I think that this is a good opportunity to spend time with your family at home. To me, family means EVERYTHING. I have been a family girl since I was born. I was born into a family-oriented household. While my father was absent in my life, I had my mother and God. It took years of healing to overcome the void that was in my life. Despite the Corona virus, I believe that the world got shaken up a little bit and woke up to the scary reality.

What are some things in your life that you are thankful for right now in this moment? I can say that I’m thankful that Yeshua died on the cross for our sins, my family including my sweet almost 7-month old puppy. I’m thankful that we have internet to be able to see what’s happening with our friends lives right now even though it may seem like nothing is happening at the moment. Two things that bother me about this virus is that people get heavily sick with this virus, and with people struggling, people put memes about the virus. I believe people should take this seriously as we are in a battlefield, washing your hands is very important, keeping distance with people outside (for me it’s hard because when I walk the dog with my husband we see our neighbors who walk their dog and we usually talk, but now we have to talk from a distance.)

Before this virus hit, I was planning on going to Florida to see my family and New York since I have family there. I didn’t buy any ticket since it was all in the talks. March was a crazy month, this is when it was starting to hit Canada ( I live here). We were going to the grocery store and there were lack of supplies which is toilet paper. Thank God we have many supplies, my husband and i are ready for this battle to stay home.

Lastly, I just wanted to come here and pour my heart on and check up on you. Don’t give up, you are not alone. Feel free to reach out, let me know if you have any prayer requests.

Much love and talk to you soon,

Margaret

PCOS

This blog post will be very detailed about women’s health, if you are uncomfortable with this, feel free to skip this post.

Before I start, I would like to extend my support and love to all the women struggling with this. I care, God cares, you’re not alone.

I have been gone for quite some time. I keep telling myself I need to write, or I have nothing to write about. But now I’m gonna be transparent with you. In September of 2019, I got diagnosed with PCOS. It stands for Poly-cystic Ovarian Syndrome. Only 1 in 10 of women suffer with this around the world, I am 1 in 10.

It all started when I was a child. I got my period at the age of 13. From there on, I was a late bloomer in maturing into a young women. My period was irregular since the age of 13. By the age of 15, I lost over 35 pounds in about two months of time. I was on this FAD diet that made me very skinny, and I was barely eating anything. I looked really skinny, in fact the skinniest I ever was in my life. I ate a big half of a cucumber sometimes in one day. That’s all I ate. After losing this weight I did have normal periods for about 3-4 years.

Sometimes I would eat half of a mac and cheese box and salad for a whole day. In my teenage mind, I didn’t know that limiting myself that much was unhealthy, I just wanted to look good, but I didn’t feel good. In high school Sophomore year, I gained more friends because of my appearance and because everyone noticed that overweight Margaret became skinny. I suddenly then became more likable.

I had struggled for years for kids bullying me for being overweight. One girl even asked me in high school if I was transgender because the pants I wore were too tight, due to me being bloated. (That wrecked me, and I was pressured to lose the weight fast, I wanted to be liked.) Fast track to end of high school years and beginning college, I started gaining weight more rapidly and couldn’t lose anymore even though I ate really clean at this point (I was eating properly).

I don’t know why I was gaining so much weight so quickly. I was still having irregular periods and severe pain in my lower abdomen. The severe pain that I had was really bad. By the year of 2018, I got married to my best friend, moved to Canada, and immigrated here. It took one year to get my free health card, and still I was missing my period

Before I got my health card, I was working at a dealership at the time, and I was noticing that I had the worst severe pain in my stomach since I had been working there, and I was scared because I was fearing something bad was happening to me. My husband and I went to a doctor in a walk-in clinic and paid a couple hundred bucks to get checked. That doctor who didn’t even check my blood pressure, weight or anything and the doctor told me that I could have an eptopic pregnancy. An eptopic pregnancy is a tubal pregnancy, the baby doesn’t form in the womb. It is very dangerous for a woman to have because it can cause death.

That day not only was I in severe pain, but I was let go of my job for no cause. So I immediately flew out to Florida, and as soon as I landed, my mom took me straight to the emergency. I had a terrible experience with the doctor that had seen me that night in the emergency. I did several painful tests, just to be told that I had cysts. I didn’t get any diagnosis, no pregnancy, and still no period. Turns out that the other doctor that I had seen in Canada gave me wrong advise, so much wrong advise that I had to fly to Florida to see if I had a dangerous pregnancy, which I wasn’t pregnant.

Once I got my health card in Canada, I finally went to see a proper doctor. I told my doctor all my symptoms, and she had sent me to get more several tests in depth done, and finally, I had gotten my results. This is when I was told that I have PCOS One thing that I will say is that all my blood work was normal except that I had over 27 cysts on each side of my ovaries, that confirmed the diagnosis. Guys, I got diagnosed at 21 years of age! I’m 22 now, most women don’t get diagnosed until they are in there older 20’s.

Now I’m not proclaiming this over myself, I believe in the power of healing in the name of the Lord. And I don’t accept the diagnosis of PCOS, because I know who I am in Jesus.

Today, I’m still working on eating healthy and making my health progress slowly. I would rather lose weight slowly, feel good, and be happy than fast and gain everything back. I’m transitioning to a healthier lifestyle, slowly but surely. I’m not perfect and I will probably still have my cheat days but I chose to eat healthier.

There are other symptoms that come with PCOS but I will not list them here since I’m trying to keep this family friendly (Of course this post isn’t for everyone, mainly women.) I will list some of the symptoms; unwanted facial hair (Praise God that for me it isn’t that bad, some women have it worse.), severe cramps, moodiness (as if your constantly PMSING), no periods, infertility (This one is a sensitive topic, you have no idea how many pregnancy tests I have took because I was always missing my period), and trouble losing weight due to inflammation in my body. The last one especially makes so much sense why it was always hard for me to lose weight.

All in all, I wanted this post to be raw, I’m done with keeping to myself. I’m still trying to figure out my journey to be healed from all of this. If your are going through this or have similar symptoms, don’t be afraid to reach out to me. We are all in this together.

If you have struggled with this for quite some time, I’m open to some advice.

God bless you all,

-Margaret Domnin

Homemade Tortillas with Fajitas!

Okay another great recipe from the Disney cookbook! And this time it’s homemade tortillas! I also made fajitas for a side! The fajitas were made from my heart! Recipe down below ⬇️⬇️⬇️

Tortilla Recipe ⤵️

Follow the instruction exactly in the book, mine didn’t come to 12 balls it came out to be 8 tortillas.

You can follow the exact method of making these tortillas! This came out to be around 8 tortillas for me, also if you want you can add a tad bit of olive oil to the tortillas while frying so they can be a little crispy.

Here is the process of me making the tortillas

Fajitas

Now on to Fajitas!

INGREDIENTS

Half onion

Red bell pepper (no specific measurements add to your liking)

Shishito peppers 🌶 (add how much you like)

Garlic clove (2-3 cloves)

Chicken breasts (cubed)

Salt (to taste)

Pepper (to taste)

Paprika (to your liking)

Olive oil (add half a cup)

Half a lemon (to juice)

Onion flakes (to your liking)

Chilli powder (to your liking)

Cumin (to your liking)

•Mix everything in a bowl•

•Add to a big plastic bag to marinate the chicken for about 30 minutes in plastic bag in fridge after mixing all ingredients

Then add everything to a dutch oven or whatever you have and cook on the stove until everything is cooked!

**You can also add more olive oil to cook, once everything is ready, you can shred the chicken in the pot.**

To make simple guac like I did, used ripe avocados, salt, pepper, and lemon juice. This is the lazy way to make guacamole!

Split Pea Soup

Hi everyone! So recently I have been getting into this new cool Disney Cookbook that my husband has found at our local thrift store here in Canada that we call Value Village. The first ever recipe that I made in this book is called Split Pea Soup.

It is soooo easy to make because instead of waiting for hours to make on the stove, I made this all in the instant pot for just 30 minutes on high pressure!

INGREDIENTS

INSTRUCTIONS

On Saute mode in the instant pot, saute onions, carrots, and garlic with the amount of olive oil. As the recipe recalls, make sure that the onions are translucent before you put split peas into the pot. I used a mixture of split peas and lentils. By the way, the carrots do not have to be perfect because once cooking they will mix with the split peas and I mashed them with the potato masher.

Here is my pot full of the ingredients.

Once everything is ready and you can see that the onions are translucent, add in the split peas, mix, and add the dill, salt, pepper, water and broth into the pot. (I added dried dill as I always have it in hand). Then add on for high pressure for 30 minutes with the sealing mode on.

This is when everything was settled and the pressure was set to 30 minutes.

Once soup is ready, switch the mode to venting until all the pressure is out.

Next, take a potato masher and mash everything, by this point everything may look thick, so it’s okay to add more water to make the soup look like it’s more of a soup then a chunky mess haha! The recipe book did mention that if the soup is thick, add more water, so that’s what I did 🙂 .

The End Result!

I Hope you enjoyed this quick recipe! If you don’t have an instant pot it’s okay because you can also make this on the stove for 2-3 hours mixing every so often to make sure the soup doesn’t stick to the bottom of the pan.

Matzo Ball Soup

ACHOOOOOO!!!!!

Has this been YOU recently and feel the cold coming? Or did you just see the title and think “OOOOO! THIS WOULD TASTE AMAZING!!” Well, your gonna be blessed today because this soup is literally amazing! So without further or do, here is my famous matzo ball soup recipe with less ingredients than I usually add, honestly you can add anything in the soup and matzo balls and it will be matzo mall soup.

Things you will need:

  • 1 Whole Chicken
  • Matzo ball mix (I used the Lipton brand in this recipe)
  • Potatoes (I used 4 regular potatoes)
  • 1 Carrot stalk
  • Salt (I used pink salt)
  • 1/2 of a Lemon
  • Lemon Pepper seasoning from TJ’s (Trader Joe’s brand)
  • Paprika
  • Cumin
  • Chili Flakes
  • Garlic powder (You can use fresh cloves if you want, powder was easier for me to add)
  • Dried Parsley
  • Dried Dill
  • Dried Herbs
  • Garlic & Herb Mrs. Dash
  • Small Chives
  • Fresh Dill and Parsley to garnish at the end

I made this soup in the instant pot so I didn’t have to remove the white fluffy fat that floats on top when you usually make boil chicken but you can make this either way. If you make this soup in the stove top, just remove the white fluff. 🙂

Just a quick tip, I usually eye out my spices so there is no specific measurement, just get creative with it!

Start of with a clean whole, medium sized chicken. If making on the stove top, add the chicken, water, all the spices and dried herbs, chives, onion (Chopped in half) , half of a lemon, diced carrots, and potatoes on medium heat. Just remember when you add water, make sure you add as much water so you can have enough soup!

The same way, add everything to the instant pot and add on soup mode or pressure cook and add for 20 minutes.

Start preparing the matzo ball mixture by following the instructions on the box!

I used Lipton in this case

If cooking with stove top, remove whit fluff until you see a clear soup broth.

Once the soup is ready (you know this when you poke a knife through the chicken and see if it boiled well enough by seeing that the knife is clear and there is no pink)

If the soup is ready, bring soup to a boil

(with instant pot press the saute button)

Then add your matzo balls. In about 15 minutes or so, your matzo balls should look light and fluffy! What I usually do is do a taste test (My favorite part!) Then I taste and see if it is good! By now when the soup is ready, I like to have a side of fresh parsley and dill in a small bowl already chopped up and add it to my soup. This soup was a total winner, it tastes so good, you will want seconds!

A Woman’s view on a Godly MARRIAGE

Our Wedding Day

Okay so this post may be cheesy to some of you, I don’t know about you but I LOVE cheesy! Marriage can be a fairy-tale if you make it one. But here is the thing if you want that kind of marriage, you and your spouse have to work hard to keep it at that level. Don’t get me wrong, all the LOVEY-LOVEY-CHEESY exists. In our own marriage we work hard to have what we want in terms of that DREAM MARRIAGE. So I added a few things that I think are important in a marriage!

1. COMMUNICATION

Photo by bruce mars on Pexels.com

Communication is super duper important when it comes to marriage. For example if you and your friends are planning to hang out, you just tell your spouse that your friends and you want to go hang out (this can be to go out and have a bite to eat with a group of friends or even a movie night.).

The other thing about communication is you TELL your spouse how you feel. If you don’t like something that they do, tell them. For example, sometimes I don’t fold the fresh clean laundry right away (Don’t tell anyone haha.) and my husband does not like that sometimes, so he offers to help me by folding the laundry with me! And we get the job done quicker. What I am trying to say by this is to make a plan; For example, If I cook, my husband would do the dishes. I LOVE when he washes the dishes lol. Make a plan with your spouse, communicate together, and create a plan.

The other thing that I would like to mention is that when something is bothering you (at work, life in general), tell your spouse. It’s important to have someone you LOVE to listen to what you have to say and vice versa.

2. PRAY FOR EACH OTHER

I believe prayer is also important in marriage. When you pray for each other, you also form a bond with your spouse. When you pray together, it shows that you care for them, especially when they pray for you. There is nothing more handsome than seeing my husband praying for me! I LOVE it when he prays for me. It makes me feel so loved!

We also say grace together before we eat our meal, it is important to say grace before eating your meal because you are giving thanks to the LORD.

3. APOLOGIZE

Yes, say sorry, even in the public. Arguments are no fun, but we are all human. Pride takes over and sometimes I didn’t want to apologize when I was in the wrong. But to be a good wife, I had to apologize because if I didn’t and I was in the wrong, I would be sinning.

To be honest, I don’t believe in “The wife is always right” because it’s not true! As women, we can be wrong too! Also, don’t go to bed angry at your spouse! You know what the bible says about that?

“In your anger do not sin” : Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry

Ephesians 4:26

It’s true! When some people talk about marriage, they say never go to bed angry with your spouse. Instead, solve everything before you go to bed, that way when you wake up, you won’t be angry at each other. It is the best feeling ever when you wake up at peace. Who doesn’t love waking up with peace in your mind!

The verse from Ephesians 4:26 basically says don’t be angry when you go to bed. Therefore, apologize to your LOVE!

4. ENCOURAGE EACH OTHER

That’s right, if one falls down, you help them back up. Last week, I had to quit my job in downtown Toronto because the commute was not worth it and it was just too far. I had an interview that same week with another company near by my home, in fact 15 minutes away from my home. I was told from the interview that if I get the job, I will hear from them by Friday. Well here I am on a Tuesday working downtown, and suddenly I think working in downtown wasn’t worth it. I call my husband, we talk about the current job that I had and we both made a decision together that I should not be working in downtown. My husband supported me in my decision and encouraged me that I’ll find something better.

Near the end of that day, I went to one of the supervisors and told them the reason why I couldn’t work there anymore, and so I resigned. That day, I never felt much more free because let me tell you, if you don’t live in downtown or even close to downtown, commute is definitely not worth it! It took 45 minutes to get to work and 45 +more back to home and waking up at 5:30 A.M. EVERYDAY . The very next day (Wednesday) I started looking for work, still hoping that I would get a job from the company I get interviewed at.

It’s Friday, and I waited for the call ALL DAY. Then, my phone rings. I was told that I got the job (I held in my scream). After the phone call ended, I screamed, calmed myself, and called my husband. When I told him about the job, he told me that I did a good job. He really was happy too! I’m so thankful that God made a way when I thought there was no way! Words of affirmation from your spouse are important when it comes to good news!

These were just a few things that I believe what a Godly marriage is about.

May the Lord Bless you

P.S. tomorrow is our 1 YEAR ANNIVERSARY!!

Marriage, is it for me?

When I was a little girl, I dreamed of marriage.

I grew up in a single-parent household. My mother raised me by herself the youngest child of three (I have two older sisters), it was hard. I moved a lot, changed many different schools, lost contact with some of my very close friends, we even foreclosed the condo that we lived in, that was hard for me it was awful, the living conditions there were explainable. My view on man changed when I saw how hard my mother worked. I honestly hated men, and thought I could never trust any man, because I saw my mother doing everything. I always leaned toward women, because to me they were more comforting.

I was always so cautious when I had a male teacher or male people around me. I trusted my grandpa mainly the most when it came to male figures, and of course, God too. To be honest even seeing little girls hold their dads hands made me very jealous and angry, but God already knew how I felt. Growing up, I was never a troubled kid. I rarely caused trouble.

When I was a little girl, I dreamed of Marriage. As I grew older, I had doubts of someone wanting to marry me. You see, I wanted to be a wife so bad and the devil put thoughts into my mind making me believe that no one wanted to marry me. A few of those thoughts included insecurities about my appearance. My whole life I felt that I needed to be someone else because of how people thought of me. Well let me tell you, THE DEVIL IS A BIG FAT LIAR!

I cannot express how thankful I am to God, I just can’t thank Him enough!! I met my husband years back at Messiah College when we were teenagers. Little did I know (haha) that he would be my husband today. (I’ll add our love story in another blog hehe.) My dreams came true in 2016, God allowed me to have a man to enter in my life. Everything from there changed, my look on man changed. My views of how men behave changed because not every man out there is the same, everyone has their a personality of their own. I became more open to having conversations to men (in this way I mean like congregation members of my synagogue.) This doesn’t mean I had no boundaries because till this day I am cautious and conservative when I shake hands with a man or even hug them. Sometimes men in congregations want to hug me, but I learned that you can extent your hand to give them a handshake out of politeness. You don’t have to hug everyone you see!

Before my husband, I dated no one. I waited for my husband. He was the only person I dated, and the only person that I entered a relationship with. Before I even knew my husband, I prayed for him. Ladies, if you think there is no man for you out there that God won’t give you, your wrong because God does not want man to be alone, we (women) are the helpers of man. Pray for the right man, God will give him to you. Also, I have nothing against single women, nor single women in ministry either, everyone has their own purpose and destiny.

On February 5th, 2018

We got married.

Forever in Love
Forever with God
Best Day Ever

So if your thinking now about marriage, is marriage for you?

My answer is yes.

God bless you,

M

What a Beautiful Name – Beautiful song!

To whom ever reads this,

I’d like to give you a warm welcome to my page. My name is Margaret, I’m American, Russian, Jewish, and more (I recently took a DNA test and that topic will be in one of my blogs). I got married February 5th 2019 to the love of my life, and not too long ago after that, I moved here, to CANADA!!

Growing up, I discovered the most precious thing here on earth, I found my Messiah, Yeshua (Jesus in Hebrew) at the age around 7. You see, God is the one that gave me the confidence. I started to sing when I was a child, and when I gave my heart to the Lord, I started to sing for Him and write songs about the Lord-till this day. This is just a brief part of my Testimony, you will see more in my blog.

While your on my page, I hope that my blogs will be a form of encouragement for you. Thanks so much for coming here! May the Lord Bless you!
